This study aims to know the element content, particle size, and minerals contained in beach sand. The sampling process is carried out in Kikia village, Sumalata Sub-district, Gorontalo Utara Regency. This study is carried out by starting sample collection, preparation, and XRF, SEM-EDS, and XRD testing. The findings show that there are various elements contained in Kikia beach sand, but the most dominant are the elements Ca and Fe. The size of the sand samples does not have a specific pattern, but calculation result based on SEM images shows that the average particle size is around 5 microns. Mineral content is characterized by the appearance of its color tendency, where samples with a yellow color tendency are caused by relatively high SiO2 and CaCO3 contents, while the black tendency comes from Fe2O3.
