Advisors (1) Dr. Suleman Bouti, S.Pd., M.Hum, (2) Farid Muhamad, S.Pd., M.A. The purpose of this study is to explore the students’ perception of Artificial Intelligence specifically ChatGPT in Pharmacy Department. The method of this study is qualitative design. Findings reveal a positive acceptance and reliance on ChatGPT for translating English text. Students in the Department of Pharmacy demonstrate a strong acceptance and reliance on ChatGPT for their applied English course in particular in understanding English text. ChatGPT helps students in translating English text into Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa. They perceive ChatGPT as a practical and effective tool, emphasizing its user-friendly interface and beneficial role in enhancing language comprehension. Interviews reveal that students frequently use ChatGPT for translations, expressing satisfaction with its helpfulness and accuracy. Additionally, ChatGPT is praised for its simplicity in handling complex grammatical structures, word classes, and verb tenses, contributing to students' overall language proficiency. Moreover, students appreciate the tool's clarity and familiarity with vocabulary, which facilitate their understanding of translated texts. In conclussion, ChatGPT is evaluated positively for its clear information, smart in understanding instructions and materials, and availability in providing detail informations in their experience of learning English.
