The aims of this research are to identify the strategies of framing and to do the analysis on how the framing lexically exist in the headlines. The significance of the research theoretically can be helpful to increase the readers’ knowledge of language publication and semantic analysis, specifically the understanding of lexical analysis. Practically, can also be implemented on how to carry out framing analysis in publication languages, in this case the language of the headlines. The methodology used in this research is descriptive linguistic. This research used Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) from Norman Fairclough (1995) with using framing analysis from several linguist, they are: William A. Gamson, Eriyanto, Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, and Entman Robert M. Furthermore, the researcher also used the self-made corpus method in collecting and analysing data. Research finding shows there are five types of framing used by the Daily Mail in compiling headline, it is found that linguistic devices are the most data, reasoning is the least, and choice of fact is mid-range used. As for the effect, Meghan Markle seemed to be at a disadvantage because almost all of the framing that was done had a bad impression on her persisting from the beginning of Markle’s time being the Duchess of Sussex until now.
