Language of sexism, an often-overlooked form of gender-based discrimination through language, encompasses both positive and negative judgments and is prevalent in society. Exploring how women express and embody sexist language in various contexts is an interesting area of study. In line with this, the present research aims to examine the portrayal of sexist language in Marvel movies by the female character Black Widow, with a specific focus on both indirect and overt sexism. Employing a descriptive analysis method, data were collected from three Marvel movies, namely Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Black Widow (2021). The findings revealed the presence of five instances of indirect sexism in Black Widow's dialogue portraying subtle forms of discrimination and reinforce gender stereotypes through mocking utterances, underestimating language, belittling knowledge and expertise, questioning authority, and teasing about romantic experiences. Furthermore, three instances of overt sexism were identified in her interactions with other characters. These findings illustrate that Black Widow openly and directly employs ridiculing utterances that exemplify overt sexism in the dialogue of her interaction with other characters. By analyzing how a female character uses sexist language, the study is expected to enhance understanding of gender dynamics in popular culture. Keywords: Language of Sexism, Black Widow, Marvel Movies.
